Here is another paper addressing 4 critiques of one of the links I sent earlier but specifically addresses ReThinkX's optimism about about our electrified future.

"Metal supply to manufacture the needed number of renewable technology units was assumed to be a market supply and demand function, where supply becomes so abundant, that the price becomes much lower than fossil fuel systems. Where this metal might come from is not considered at all. Lithium-ion battery chemistry is assumed to be dominant. This work does not recognize the true requirements to phase out fossil fuels, even with the presented radically different society."

Bottom line is people create money, money doesn't create resources.
