I love Star Trek just as much as the next person does but we do not have enough energy to take care of people on THIS planet let alone people and "bases" (sounds soo high tech, masculine and military doesn't it?) on another rock in space with no atmosphere to breathe, deflect astroids or a magnetosphere to deflect radiation.

With what energy source are you proposing to propel material and people hundreds of thousands of miles away and sustain them when we can't even feed the people in South Sudan or Yemen? ( or Alabama or San Francisco for that matter?)

After 20 years in finance I realized it was all a lie. Now I'm trying to figure out what 'it' is. Human being tired of being lied to.
