Patrick, the unfortunate side-effect, or rather the main clause of capitalism is to distill everything to "cost". Cost to whom? We are incapable today on agreeing about the true cost of a pair of slippers made in China and shipped to Fort Lauderdale, let alone calculate the cost of climate change. The sad reality of it is, the "cost" is tens of millions of lives, dreams, thousands of species annihilated and a potentially wrecked planet that can only support a fraction of the present human, animal, insect and plant population all of which are Earth creatures. Trying to put a "price" on it using fiat currencies which are at best mental constructs, whether it is US dollars, Chinese Yuan or Euros is a delusion that will destroy us if we can't change our thinking. We can not buy our way out of this.

After 20 years in finance I realized it was all a lie. Now I'm trying to figure out what 'it' is. Human being tired of being lied to.
