Saying "these disruptions have the potential to reduce net emissions 90% by 2035, on target to going below zero before 204" is like saying like "Alex has the potential to start training now to make it to the geriatric olympics by 2035 and become a python programmer and a visual artist all at the same time while dating a new person every day of the week !"

Ahhh...the potential I have! And obviously a vivid imagination!

So many things so obviously wrong and so romantically optimistic....sigh. I envy you.

However,

Of all the things too hoptimistic, I'l point out just one.

Assuming that "we know what to do" is even remotely accurate, it is also accurate that at this point in history humans lack the cooperation, the political structure, the species maturity and consensus building and honest communication essential to even come close to implementing any kind of global solution.

We can't even agree on wearing a mask or getting a vaccine.

Technology, that has created this problem will not save us.

Decoupling the resource economy completely from the overall economy to the point of insignificance is not possible.

There is a reason they called it the "impossible burger".

The impossibility is the notion that 7.9 billion (soon to be 9) humans can elevate their overall consumption from this point on and still reduce the ecological and thermodynamic waste of that consumption.

After 20 years in finance I realized it was all a lie. Now I'm trying to figure out what 'it' is. Human being tired of being lied to.
