The New World Order (just like the old one) will be determined by who has access to the (now rapidly depleting) energy resources of the planet in the coming decade. A China with 1.4 billion hungry people and an economy dependent on oil imports is a natural ally of a sparsely populated but energy rich Russia that it shares the longest land border with. This resource war in Eastern Europe will lead to others. The Ukrainian war will go on as a slog-fest as Russia becomes the primary oil and gas supplier to China by 2025. Then the U.S. will look elsewhere once it realizes a thunder run to Moscow is not going to happen.
