The premise is faulty. Trying to solve for “growth forever” when growth is the problem will not work. Thermodynamics is a bitch. We are still trying to “solve” our predicament by using terms like “affordable” . The one thing we can NOT afford is the loss of the planet. All other “affordability” is a smoke screen created by people who have wealth and want to hang on to it. It seem it is only THE wealthy who can’t apparently part with their wealth to save the planet. Affordability, in this case is in the eye of the beholder. Hence trying to squeeze square pegs in round holes! Each conversion of energy releases some heat. We can not keep burning and keep proliferating and “hope” we can suck up our mess and “oh please do not charge me more than $100 otherwise I can’t afford another Maserati” is the worst kind of lie.
