US, China or EU - we are all pretending that we can somehow engineer a transition to another form of energy economy with little or no disruption to our present exploitive system, which is fully dependent on consumption, debt and growth.

This is an illusion perpetuated by the same people who benefitted from denial during the last 4 decades and are now benefiting from delay today.

An increase in industrial production of 3% (world growth) doubles our output, thus our energy need every 23 years. By 2045 then, we will need to double our present energy consumption while presently we get less than 12-15% globally via renewables minus hydro-power.

Wind and solar simply do not have the energy density to power the present level of production and consumption let alone double it in 23 years and beyond.

We can not preserve a system that is inherently destructive by tinkering with the inherently destructive system, that is not transformation it is a dangerous delusion.

After 20 years in finance I realized it was all a lie. Now I'm trying to figure out what 'it' is. Human being tired of being lied to.
